MSGAO Talks Racing at Hutchinson School

HutchinsonSue Arlotta, MSGAO Director Vicki Cohen and Paula Pilgrim, accompanied by Monster, Sylvie and Fuhler, visited Hutchison School in Memphis May 27 to talk to girls (and a few boys) about racing animals.

Vicki discussed farm life, tattoos, race training, muzzles and Bertillon cards — those diagrams showing a greyhound’s markings, down to toenail color.

Paula talked about pet therapy (Sylvie formerly visited Youth Villages as a therapy hound).

Sue took the topic of greys living with cats.

Following a question-and-answer session, the kids and staff had a chance to pet Monster (Sue’s dog) as well as Paula’s Sylvie and Fuhler.

The visit went very well and was enjoyed by all!

Dogs will be washed, rain or shine!

It’s that time of year again! Time to get those stinky toes washed and trimmed, teeth brushed, and winter coats shaved. An entire day of greyhound spa pampering! The MSGAO Annual Dog Wash is one of our big fundraisers for the year, and we need your dirty greyhound(s) to show up for a spa day, rain or shine.
