Our Thanks to One and All

Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU! We can’t say it enough to all the people and pooches who made our 2011 Reunion Gala a great success. Our thanks go out to:

  • The generous people who donated auction items
  • The generous people who purchased auction items
  • The vendors who brought such fine wares to the reunion
  • The people who bought those fine wares from the vendors
  • The people who couldn’t attend and made donations instead
  • The Southland Gaming and Racing staff members who supplied the food and facilities, including the cooks and servers who quenched our thirst and satisfied our hunger
  • All the people who volunteered a ton of time to organize and stage the reunion
  • The list can go on and on. Our apologies if we missed anyone! It takes a generous and giving community of greyhound lovers and to make this event happen. We are grateful to one and all for the support!

Check out the photos being shared on the Friends of Mid-South Greyhound Adoption Option’s Facebook page.

    Going once, going twice…

The bidding should be hot and heavy tonight at the 2011 MSGAO Reunion Gala. A wide spectrum of greyhound goods — from the practical to the artistic — will be up for auction tonight! All proceeds benefit greyhound adoption!

Among the items that will be available at the live and silent auctions at MSGAO’s 2011 annual reunion gala Oct. 15 will be a gift certificate from pet artist Esther Clair. Esther is based in Stillwater, Oklahoma. MSGAO Director Vicki Cohen says Esther’s work is beautiful.

2011 Reunion Will Have a Unique Feature and a Volunteer Opportunity

You can join in the battle against osteosarcoma in greyhounds. Volunteers are needed Saturday night at the MSGAO annual reunion when we will be assisting the Van Andel Institute by collecting DNA samples for the Canine Hereditary Cancer Consortium. The consortium is using DNA to find ways to fight osteosacoma, common in greyhounds and also affecting people.

If you can lend a hand, please contact Chris Platt either through the Friends of Mid-South Greyhound Adoption Option Facebook page or via email at [email protected].

Please let her know if you can assist in the DNA swab collection process. It is fast, easy and a great way to make a difference!
