Story was an average racer who recently retired because he had a seizure. The cause remains unknown, and he has not had another since. Story is a very gentle dog with a wonderful personality. He gets along well with kids and other dogs, and he passed his cat test with flying colors. He has the longest, softest ears you’ll ever feel on a greyhound, and a very fluffy coat! Story will make a great companion for the lucky family who welcomes him home.

On this page, I’ll chronicle Story’s adventures and progress in his foster home. He was neutered on March 14th, which means he’ll be ready to go to his forever home after his stitches come out on the 24th.

Sunday, March 11th – Story’s First Day

Story is perfect so far, just as I expected! He was happy to meet my dogs and they were thrilled to see him. He walked into the house like he’d always been there. We went on a nice walk around the neighborhood. His leash manners are outstanding, especially for a dog so fresh off the track.

Friday, March 16th

Story slept in until past 9 am! Poor guy is very sleepy after his neuter and dental. He has only been here a short while but he has settled in beautifully. The transition from racing to retirement has been so easy for him. His appetite is great despite all of the sudden changes in his life. His favorite thing to do is lean on me and be petted. This boy is unbelievably gentle.

 

Saturday, March 17th

Story is still amazing and perfect and seizure free!  We went on a nice walk around the block today.
